Really loved your reviews, we’ve got extremely similar taste even down to your reference of Stoner! I did however love Solider Sailor, her experience mirrored a lot of how I felt and thought after the birth of both my children, how she managed to articulate and bring back so many memories I hold was incredible.
Do you subscribe to the stinging fly? I had a prescription some years back and I think I might renew!
Stoner was one of those books I kicked myself for not having read sooner, a masterpiece!
I did suspect while/after reading Soldier Sailor that a mother would have an entirely different reading experience — I can’t say that I either liked or disliked it but it made me think and feel a lot. Definitely one I’d come back to if I do ever have children, though I feel like it could also be a little triggering? I felt winded reading it, and that’s as somebody with no idea of what motherhood is like😅
I don’t! This is actually my first time hearing of it (I have never been much of a magazine person) but I will definitely do a little research and let you know if I end up subscribing, thank you for the recommendation ☺️
I absolutely loved reading these little reviews Nas. It warms my heart to read how you talk about Ireland. The years i spent there were the happiest i've ever been and you already know one of my goals was to read more books by irish writers and you gave me the perfect recs, thank you 💚
Always a pleasure to read you, it felt like we were having a conversation ❤️ Thank you so much for such lovely recs, I have to dive into Irish literature because my obsession with andrew scott is probably the only tie I have with Ireland 🫣
